West Woodside is an extremely
comfortable self-catering cottage set amid the heather clad hills &
Scots pines of Royal Deeside.
Wildlife is abundant with rabbits,
red squirrels, roe deer, buzzards, jays & woodpeckers frequently
being seen from the Sun Lounge.
The
cottage was aquired in the late 1960's by Ken & Jeanne Booth, who
have modernised & upgraded it over the years. Several traditional
features still remain, such as the original ingle-neuk fireplace
complete with ''swey''. It has been a self-catering cottage registered
with the Tourist Board since 1983.
The
small village of Logie Coldstone is 1/3 of a mile away. The local
hostelry (closed Thursday day-time) is the Airedale Lounge where Sandra
offers bar food to sit in or take-away and a small shop counter. When
closed an 'honesty' newspaper stand can be found in the vestibule.
Logie Coldstone is 35 miles west of Aberdeen and 4 miles north of the main Deeside road (A93) at Dinnet.
West Woodside can be found on Ordnance Survey Landranger Map 37

There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. All linen is provided and there are convector heaters and electric blankets in both rooms.
The
focal point of the living room is a wood-burning stove, with ample wood
included. The open plan kitchen is separated from the rest of the room
by a breakfast bar. The kitchen includes all mod cons,a newly fitted dishwasher and a payphone.
The bathroom has a bath with shower facility.

There are indoor and outdoor games, plenty of CD's, videos and books to
enjoy. For first time visitors to the area there are measured, mapped
out walks, with plenty of information for exploring the area.
The shed contains a tumble drier, a freezer and garden chairs. You may even bring your own flag for the flag pole!!
The patio, with picnic table and gas barbecue overlooks a large meadow surrounded by trees.
