Provence is a beautiful Mediterranean region of France situated in the south eastern reaches of the country next to the border with Italy and a popular destination in which to stay in holiday home rentals. Provence itself is split up into a number of smaller "departements", these are Var, Vaucluse, Bouches-du-Rhône, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Alpes-Maritimes.
