Hampshire
Hampshire is a picturesque county situated on the southern coast of the UK, and it shares borders with the counties of Dorset, Wiltshire, West Sussex, Surrey and Berkshire. Hampshire is packed with holiday home rentals thanks to its popularity as a tourist destination. There are a tremendous amount of things to see and do in Hampshire, from exploring the beautiful scenery and coastline through to visiting the cities and towns dotted across the county and frequenting the museums, night spots, restaurants and tourist attractions.
Since both Portsmouth and Southampton fall within the historic county of Hampshire one is always sure of having plenty to do; the maritime museum and attractions in Portsmouth are exceptional and a highly recommended day out, as is the motor museum at Beaulieu if that is where your interests lie. For those who prefer more countryside oriented pursuits why not enjoy some time in the New Forest, a spectacular national park, part of which lies within the boundaries of Hampshire? Many famous historical figures have emerged from Hampshire and fans of Jane Austen and Charles Dickens will be assured that there is plenty to see and do related to these two individuals in particular. There is also a great deal to learn about Isambard Kingdom Brunel who hailed from the area, and it is perhaps because of the legacy these people have left behind that Hampshire has such a sterling reputation to this day.
It is widely recognised as one of the most beautiful areas of the United Kingdom and the entire coastline is packed with things to do for everyone from those enjoying a quiet, peaceful weekend break to large parties looking for excitement and adventure. If you prefer the hustle and bustle of a busy city then why not pay a visit to Portsmouth or Southampton, or pop into Winchester to explore the sublime historic surroundings? And if you feel the need to stray away from your holiday home rentals and spread your wings why not utilise the excellent transport links that Hampshire has to offer and head into London for a day or two?
