Cotswolds
The Cotswolds is an extensive region in the centre of England that has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty in 1966 and again in 1991; perfect for holiday home rentals in the country! It is home to the Cotswold Way, a long distance footpath that runs on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment with views over the Severn Valley and the Vale of Evesham for approximately 103 miles and offers many holiday home rentals along the way. It is easy to see why the region of the Cotswolds is popular with walkers and many of these take advantage of the stunning holiday home rentals that are available in the area.
The Cotswolds offer excellent transport links from the M5, M4 and M40 make the Cotswolds extremely popular with visitors from around the region. Many come to visit the quaint towns and villages that are found throughout the rolling countryside such as Lechlade, Tetbury and Fairford. These towns all offer superb home rentals that provide an excellent base to explore the surrounding Cotswolds from. In addition, the historic city of Oxford lies to the east of the Cotswolds region and provides an immense amount of local interest that attracts visitors from around the globe. Many people also own second homes in the Cotswolds that provide many of the holiday home rentals in the area. The region is affluent, following the wealth that the medieval churches brought to the area which still exists today. The ever popular town of Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds attracts many visitors looking for holiday rentals as it is well known being the home of the Arts and Crafts movement, founded by William Morris at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. Campden also attracts visitors who stay in the holiday home rentals in the region for the annual Cotswolds Games, a celebration of sports and games dating back to the early 17th century.
