Nearest Airport: Las Palmas airport (LPA) Gran Canaria is 50km away (about 30 minutes by car). Car hire is not needed but is quite cheap and very easy. I can give you details of all the options for transfer from the airport to Puerto Rico. The cheapest is the express bus (Number 91) which takes 45 minutes and costs 4.90 euros.

Places of Interest

Puerto Rico beach (Saharan sand) is 7 minutes walk. Amadores beach (coral sand) is 20 minutes walk or a short bus ride. Other beaches (Puerto Mogan, Taurito, Arguineguin) are accessible by the frequent bus or 'glass bottom ferry' services.
Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles are a 15 minute drive or 25 minute bus ride away. This is where the sand dunes are. The more remote part of the beach is for nudists. There is surf (big waves) here.

Puerto Rico has steps and slopes everywhere. The shortcut from the beach level to our apartment involves 82 steps. You can take the slightly longer road route with just 4 steps from the street at our entrance.
